Living organisms and sedimentary remains from high mountain lakes in the Alps

We publish a data set of environmental and biological collected in 2000 during the ice-free period high mountain lakes located above local timberline Alps, Italy, Switzerland Austria. Environmental include coordinates, geographical attributes detailed information on vegetation, bedrock land use lake catchments. Chemical analyses sample for each at surface Summer are also reported. Biological phytoplankton (floating algae cyanobacteria), zooplankton animals), macroinvertebrates (aquatic organisms visible to naked eye living contact with sediments bottom), benthic diatoms. Diatoms, cladocera chironomids remains algal bacterial pigments were analysed sediments.
